Network Engineer Level III, Firewall

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and implement sophisticated network architectures that align with organizational objectives and scalability needs.

• Lead the strategy and execution of network upgrades, migrations, and expansions.

• Conduct advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for critical network challenges.

• Enhance network performance and scalability through proactive monitoring and adjustments.

• Develop and implement network policies, procedures, and security protocols.

• Oversee the lifecycle management of network hardware and software, including procurement and updates.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate and address long-term network needs.

• Document network designs, configurations, and operational procedures for knowledge sharing.

• Mentor and train junior engineers to enhance team expertise and capabilities.

• Ensure adherence to federal IT security standards, including FISMA, NIST, and other relevant regulations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• 7 years of experience in network engineering or a comparable IT role.

• Proficiency in advanced networking protocols, such as MPLS, BGP, and QoS.

• Skilled in managing enterprise-level network hardware and software.

• Strong understanding of network security frameworks and tools, including firewalls and intrusion detection systems.

• Experience with cloud networking solutions, such as AWS or Azure.

• Relevant certifications, such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Juniper Networks Certified Professional (JNCP), are highly valued.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and project management abilities.

• Capability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams in high-pressure situations.

• Strong analytical skills to evaluate and enhance network performance and reliability.
