Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and manage network solutions that align with customer business needs and service level agreements (SLAs).

• Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering teams to outline the requirements and high-level architecture for network systems, ensuring they are highly available, maintainable, and reliable.

• Oversee and enforce network security measures and protocols.

• Track and optimize network availability and performance to validate established SLAs.

• Assess network hardware and software solutions in line with industry benchmarks.

• Administer and oversee network firewall products and access control measures.

• Engage in routine network maintenance tasks and change-management procedures.

• Install, sustain, and monitor the functionality of the organization's enterprise network.

• Serve as a point of contact among developers, operators, vendors, customers, and other stakeholders concerning network hardware and software challenges.

• Assist in outlining future network architecture to enhance capacity, availability, and scalability.


⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in network engineering or IT technical roles.

• Proficient understanding of routing, switching, and firewall management.

• Capacity to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Public Trust or Security Clearance.

• Practical experience with enterprise firewall and security platforms, such as Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, or Cisco ASA/Firepower.

• Familiarity with SD-WAN and Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) frameworks.

• Knowledge of network automation and scripting (Python, Ansible) for enhancing configuration and monitoring processes.

• Experience with cloud networking solutions, including AWS VPC, Azure VNet, ExpressRoute, or Direct Connect.

• Exposure to Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), and network monitoring tools, such as Splunk, SolarWinds, or Wireshark.

• Relevant certifications, such as CCNA, CCNP, or CompTIA Network+/Security+.
