This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Create, examine, modify, and enhance technical network documents, such as design documents, systems engineering plans, and program deliverables.
• Confirm that network designs align with requirements, standards, and industry best practices.
• Perform thorough quality assurance reviews for network modernization and refresh initiatives.
• Collaborate with network engineers and architects to ensure documentation accurately represents configurations, baselines, and system behaviors.
• Review and verify network configuration templates, implementation strategies, and engineering specifications.
• Evaluate and document network infrastructure needs for both new and existing systems within complex DoD environments.
• Ensure complete adherence to DoD standards, specific customer documentation regulations, and program mandates.
• Uphold configuration management standards and maintain documentation records.
• Develop and revise SOPs, TTPs, and technical knowledge articles.
• Assemble technical documentation packages in response to engineering data requests.
• Review documentation related to security, such as patch plans, IAVA compliance reports, and vulnerability assessments.
• Verify the accuracy of network diagrams, topology maps, and infrastructure inventories.
• Engage in design reviews, providing technical insights to enhance network architectures.
• Assist program management teams with documentation for deliverable evaluations and customer presentations.
• Guide junior engineers on quality assurance best practices and documentation standards.
• Operate independently with minimal oversight while maintaining a strong sense of accountability and meticulous attention to detail.
• A valid DoD Secret clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline OR a high school diploma/associate degree combined with at least 7 years of experience as a Network Engineer supporting large, complex networks.
• At least 5 years of network engineering experience (with a BA/BS).
• Excellent technical writing and editing abilities with a keen eye for detail.
• Experience in reviewing or creating network design documents and technical specifications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
• Capability to interpret network diagrams, topology designs, and configuration standards.
