This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
• Act as a representative for network infrastructure design and implementation requirements across worldwide data center settings.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (including engineering, design, construction, and operations) to establish and incorporate space, power, cooling, and connectivity needs into data center designs and standards.
• Assist in the development and enhancement of network infrastructure standards, technical references, and design methodologies.
• Carry out construction administration and site inspections; collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and construction teams to verify network builds adhere to standards.
• Offer guidance and training to design, construction, and operations teams to ensure alignment with design intentions and reduce site-level discrepancies.
• Aid in the commissioning, provisioning, and readiness of network infrastructure across global locations.
• Lead strategic initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, scalability, innovation, and standardization of network infrastructure.
• Foster and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, cross-functional collaborators, and external suppliers.
• Contribute to automation, tooling, and AI projects to enhance consistency, quality, and efficiency in infrastructure design and deployment.
• 5-7+ years of experience in designing and deploying data center connectivity infrastructure.
• Extensive knowledge of structured cabling and fiber optic systems, including design standards and best practices for installation.
• Familiarity with fault-tolerant power and cooling architectures that support highly available environments.
• General understanding of data center design, construction, and commissioning processes.
• Experience in leading cross-functional initiatives and managing large-scale infrastructure design projects.
• Strong problem-solving abilities with the capacity to set strategic goals and execute them effectively.
• Proficient understanding of networking technologies (TCP/IP, routing, switching), optical transport (DWDM, transceivers), and redundancy principles.
• Demonstrated ability to perform effectively in ambiguous situations and collaborate across teams.
• Excellent skills in prioritization, multitasking, and communication.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Facilities, Infrastructure, or a related field.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license or relevant data center design certifications are preferred.
• Electrical safety certifications (e.g., NFPA, OSHA).
• Data center certifications (e.g., CDCP or equivalent).
