This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Cultivates and sustains customer relationships.
• Identifies, generates, pursues, and secures new sales opportunities.
• Evaluates business opportunities and prospect needs to address challenges through a sales solution approach to outsourced/managed transportation services.
• Implements a multi-tiered strategy for sales activities, including phone calls, in-person meetings, prospecting, qualifying leads, and cold calling.
• Monitors, follows up with, and supports customer sales representatives with new leads regarding business opportunities.
• Conducts regular cold outreach to uncover potential business opportunities.
• Establishes and expands new business ventures.
• Provides quotes to customers for new lanes as needed.
• Engages in sales trips as necessary to meet with customer prospects.
• Designs and delivers compelling sales presentations.
• Coordinates and collaborates closely with the VP of Business Development.
• Works in partnership with Operations Management to enhance sales operations as required.
• Aids Operations Management in setting performance objectives.
• Supports Operations Management by covering functional responsibilities when necessary.
• Works with operations managers to effectively onboard and allocate new business to the appropriate customer service representatives.
• Collaborates in revitalizing existing sales accounts as needed.
• Works with operations managers, rate analysts, and customer and carrier sales representatives during bidding to verify the rating process.
• Partners with operations managers to establish and implement effective operational procedures as required.
• Proactively identifies problems and potential issues before they arise.
• Books available freight cost-effectively when necessary.
• Collaborates to resolve billing discrepancies.
• Monitors customer scorecards to meet performance metrics.
• Develops, analyzes, and generates sales reports to share insights with operations managers, measuring and maintaining sales performance and growth.
• Available via cell phone and email after hours and on weekends.
• Communicates observed performance issues to operations managers.
• Experience in transportation and a Book of Business are essential for qualification.
• High energy and a positive demeanor.
• Strong organizational and scheduling abilities.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Outstanding customer service skills.
• Comprehensive cross-functional understanding and the ability to collaborate with colleagues across the organization.
• In-depth knowledge of logistics processes and their theoretical applications.
• Extensive familiarity with business sales reporting.
• Capability to multitask in a high-volume calling environment.
• Proficient in prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
• Strong negotiation capabilities.
• Ability to function under high-stress conditions.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
