This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Oversee the marketing and sales of Armstrong branded fire products across the US market.
• Build a Sales Representative Network: Identify and recruit Tier 1 and Tier 2 sales representatives in key markets.
• Ensure representatives are fully onboarded and trained on Armstrong products and services.
• Continuously assess and seek new representative agencies.
• Develop, train, inspire, and supervise the distribution network within the region.
• Collaborate with the national sales team to uncover and pursue new business opportunities.
• Partner with industrial design consultants to create new applications in sectors such as oil and gas, pulp and paper, mining, refining, and natural gas.
• Ensure acceptance of the Design Envelope Fire solutions by design, construction, and approval authorities, including FIRE Marshals, insurance underwriters, and service and test organizations.
• Identify and cultivate new sectors that require strategic engagement outside the standard sales cycle and regional distribution planning.
• Establish and work towards annual sales targets for bookings, shipments, and margin.
• Oversee the proposal and quotation process, collaborating with technical expertise in the Regional Sales Enablement Center.
• Manage sales expenses within the allocated budget.
• Actively participate and represent Armstrong in the fire industry through involvement in industry events, webinars, trade shows, and other channels.
• Work alongside Marketing and Communications to discover opportunities for enhancing our market presence, including online materials, collateral, and public speaking engagements.
• Assist in training and developing all distribution channels on a wide range of sales and marketing subjects, such as product features and benefits, technical presentations, fundamental selling skills, public speaking, computer training, and ACE selection software.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience; a Master's in Business Administration is preferred.
• 10 years of proven success in business development, sales, and/or marketing leadership in delivering products/services to commercial, institutional, and industrial clients.
• Practical experience in national account development and management.
• This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
• In-depth knowledge of the design requirements and intent of contemporary fire safety systems.
• Over 10 years of professional sales and sales management experience within the fire protection and life safety industry.
• Strong understanding of Fire Safety codes, the code development process, and local approvals (site and field).
• Comprehensive knowledge of competitors in the fire safety industry, both direct and indirect, from a fire safety perspective.
• Creative problem-solving abilities and conflict management skills within various organizational structures (centralized and matrix).
• Capability to deconstruct complex problems simplistically, perform root cause analysis, and offer clear, well-considered recommendations.
• Strong, team-oriented leadership qualities with presence and a proactive approach.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining a results-driven focus.
