Multipurpose Vessel – 2nd Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Croatia.

📋 Description

• Accountable for the effective operation and upkeep of the engine room and associated machinery.

• Support the Chief Engineer in overseeing daily operations within the engine room.

• Oversee the maintenance and repair of the main engine, auxiliary systems, and equipment.

• Strategize and implement preventive maintenance schedules.

• Track fuel consumption, lubrication oil levels, and machinery performance metrics.

• Direct engine room watchkeeping and manage the engine crew effectively.

• Ensure adherence to safety standards, pollution prevention measures, and regulatory compliance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Prior experience in repairs and dry docking is essential.

• Experience in a multicultural work environment is preferred.

• Must possess a valid Certificate of Competency (COC) as per STCW Regulation III/2, with verification.

• Must hold valid STCW certifications relevant to the position.

• Strong communication and leadership abilities are required.

• Proficient in English communication.

• A strong safety culture and mindset are necessary.

• Minimum experience requirement: 8 months in the same rank on a similar type of vessel.

• Experience in the trading areas of the USA and Australia is advantageous.

• At least 4 months of experience in rank with an Electronic Engine type (ME or RT Flex) is necessary.

• Familiarity with electronic engines is a plus.

• Experience with cargo gear, specifically Crane maker NMF 320MT SWL, is preferred.

• Familiarity with trading areas [USA, Australia] is beneficial.
