Multimedia Internship

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in the production of podcasts, videos, and social media content as part of The Dispatch’s multimedia team.

• Aid in the creation and dissemination of podcast and social video material, which includes clipping, asset collection, metadata writing, and publishing assistance.

• Identify compelling segments from podcasts, interviews, and live events for social media and YouTube content.

• Record podcast audio and video using Riverside and edit using Premiere.

• Provide overall editorial and multimedia assistance to producers, editors, and other team members.

• Collaborate closely with reporters, staff writers, and editors to enhance podcasts and social video productions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or master’s degree program; students graduating in 2026 are eligible.

• A strong passion for journalism, podcasting, digital video, and the dynamic media landscape.

• Familiarity with American politics, news, and public affairs.

• An active interest in significant stories that influence the national dialogue.

• Practical experience in audio, video, or social content production gained through coursework, internships, student media, freelance projects, or personal initiatives.

• Basic knowledge of relevant production tools such as ProTools, Adobe Audition, Adobe Premiere, Descript, Riverside, Canva, or equivalent platforms.

• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage details effectively.

• Capability to respond professionally to feedback.

• Strong editorial judgment and effective communication skills.

• Willingness to quickly learn in a fast-paced newsroom setting.

• Submission of a resume, cover letter, and three links to multimedia audio or video projects, or a description of applicable production skills/tools.
