Motion Designer – Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Establish and develop Branch's motion design language as an integral component of our Material Design-based design system.

• Define the principles, patterns, and standards governing motion behavior across both Android and Web platforms.

• Actively identify opportunities within the app where motion can enhance the overall user experience.

• Work in close collaboration with product designers, engineers, and product managers to integrate motion design that addresses real user experience challenges.

• Convert product objectives and user requirements into innovative motion concepts.

• Create meaningful micro-interactions, transitions, and animations that streamline user journeys in onboarding KYC, loan applications, and payment processes.

• Provide production-ready motion assets (such as Lottie files, GIFs, specifications, and prototypes) for seamless engineering handoff.

• Maintain ownership of motion quality throughout the entire process, from initial concept to implementation review.

• Keep abreast of the latest trends, tools, and best practices in motion design.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in motion design, with a strong emphasis on UI/product animation for mobile applications.

• A portfolio showcasing craftsmanship, variety, and purposefulness in motion design.

• Solid understanding of animation principles (including timing, easing, and spatial relationships) and their impact on usability and perception.

• Experience in working with or contributing to a design system.

• Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with designers, engineers, and product managers, ensuring clear communication and thorough documentation.

• Comfort in navigating ambiguity and taking ownership of projects.

• Experience in delivering assets in formats that are ready for mobile engineering handoff.

• Additional experience in fintech, banking, or similar fields where trust, clarity, and simplicity are paramount is a plus.
