This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Oversee motion design for a variety of client projects, which include launch videos, commercials, product explainers, social media content, and brand campaigns.
• Produce high-quality motion graphics from initial concept to final delivery, encompassing 2D, UI, typography, compositing, and edit-driven animation.
• Assist in establishing the visual direction, pacing, transitions, and motion systems for various projects.
• Collaborate closely with producers, editors, designers, and directors to bring creative ideas to fruition.
• Evaluate and give constructive feedback to fellow motion designers to uphold a high standard of creativity across all projects.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to the motion team through constructive critiques, collaboration, and support with workflows.
• Develop scalable templates, systems, and processes to enhance consistency and efficiency across projects.
• Balance speed and quality while managing multiple projects and deadlines.
• Challenge the conventional; we appreciate individuals with refined taste, keen attention to detail, and a commitment to perfecting work until it feels outstanding.
• Contribute to enhancing the overall motion pipeline, organization, and creative processes as the team expands.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in motion design, preferably with expertise in both product/UI motion and brand or marketing projects.
• Proven history of leading or mentoring other motion designers.
• A compelling portfolio showcasing a diverse range of work, including launch films, brand projects, product motion, and social media content.
• Proficient in After Effects and Figma.
• Familiarity with at least one 3D tool (such as Cinema 4D, Blender, Spline, or similar).
• Strong foundation in visual design principles, including typography, layout, color theory, composition, and timing.
• Well-informed opinions on easing, timing, and restraint, with the ability to articulate them in discussions with knowledgeable peers.
• Versatile in both individual contributor and leadership roles; capable of executing complex sequences personally while assisting teammates as needed.
• Experience in studio, agency, or fast-paced startup settings.
• Self-motivated and adept at remote work; able to conduct critiques via Zoom, provide clear written feedback in Figma, and keep the team synchronized across different time zones.
