Mortgage Loan Officer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Dakota.

📋 Description

• Initiate and oversee purchase mortgage loans from application to closing, ensuring adherence to all compliance requirements.

• Transform company-generated purchase opportunities into funded loans through proactive follow-ups and effective consultations with borrowers.

• Cultivate strong relationships with clients and, when applicable, with Zillow Preferred Agents and local partners.

• Maintain an active pipeline while achieving established service levels, productivity targets, and funding goals.

• Utilize Zillow’s CRM, loan origination systems (LOS), and data-driven tools to effectively manage pipeline health and engage with customers.

• Collaborate with centralized processing, underwriting, and closing teams to facilitate efficient loan movement.

• Provide a consistent, high-quality customer experience through communication via phone, email, and text.

• Remain informed on market trends, lending programs, and regulatory standards to offer customized financing solutions.

• Keep active licensing, fulfill required education, and engage in continuous professional development.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of mortgage origination experience with a strong focus on purchase transactions.

• Completion of the 20-hour CORE Pre-Licensing Education and successful completion of the SAFE Mortgage Loan Originator Test – National Component with Uniform State Content.

• Demonstrated success in originating purchase loans within either a high-volume, phone-based sales environment or an agent-centric referral model.

• Strong customer service orientation complemented by consultative sales skills and a comprehensive understanding of the mortgage process.

• Comfortable operating in a structured, performance-oriented environment with clearly defined KPIs.

• Exceptional verbal communication skills and the ability to quickly establish trust.

• Strong organizational, time management, and pipeline management abilities.

• Proficient in CRM, LOS, and Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
