MongoDB Database Support Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

⛳️ Requirements

• Comprehensive knowledge of both RDBMS and MongoDB, covering:

• All facets of configuration and industry best practices.

• Schema design, performance tuning, query optimization, and index tuning.

• Backup solutions.

• Understanding of replica set and sharding architectures.

• Engine selection and utilization.

• In-depth grasp of monitoring needs.

• Proven experience in managing Linux-based systems.

• Familiarity with virtualized environments like VMWare, Docker, and/or Kubernetes.

• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Digital Ocean, and/or Azure).

• Ability to troubleshoot systematically, identifying and implementing fixes for known issues, and, when necessary, the ability to think creatively to solve complex problems.

• Eager to broaden your skill set with emerging technologies as the industry evolves.

• Willingness to travel occasionally for team meetings, conferences, and client visits.

• Experience interacting with customers in English.

• Completion of MongoDB University courses.

• Familiarity with Percona Backup for MongoDB.

• Experience using MongoDB Atlas.

• Basic or higher-level troubleshooting experience with Postgres DBA.

• Knowledge of Nagios, Percona Monitoring Plugins, and other monitoring solutions.

• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.

• Familiarity with the Percona Toolkit suite.

• Proficiency in writing Python and Go is preferred.

• Hands-on experience with MySQL (minimum of 2+ years).
