This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Perform on-site inspections of vehicle conditions for dealer clients in a designated territory
• Locate, start, move, inspect, and safely return vehicles on dealer client premises
• Confirm vehicle identification, VINs, mileage, sub-series, and options; accurately input data into systems
• Assess and document the condition of the vehicle's exterior and interior, tires, frame, glass, panels, mechanical components, seating, dashboard, and installed options
• Execute basic mechanical checks on powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical components
• Identify and record any damage, missing components, and non-functional features
• Establish trust with dealer clients and inform them about Manheim Marketplace and mobile inspection services
• Actively engage with dealers to boost inspection volume and ensure ongoing participation
• Utilize data, insights, and partner feedback to enhance inspection efficiency and productivity in the territory
• Adjust to changing appointments and schedules to maintain dealer coverage
• Prepare and submit daily activity and production reports
• Use Salesforce.com for reporting, lead management, and tracking customer performance
• Collaborate with Wholesale Specialists, colleagues, and other Manheim teams to facilitate client success
• Contribute to process improvements in a continuous enhancement and Lean environment
• Maintain production standards and adhere to safety and health protocols
• Participate in Safety Excellence initiatives
• Comply with Manheim inspection standards, including the NAAA Frame/Structure Damage Policy
• At the senior level, conduct advanced inspections, mentor colleagues, support onboarding, and serve as a subject matter expert
• A High School Diploma or GED is required for Level 1
• Level 2: A High School Diploma or GED plus 3+ years of experience in a related field, or any degree/certification beyond high school diploma/GED, or 5 years of related experience
• Senior Level: A High School Diploma/GED plus 5 years of related experience, or any degree/certification beyond high school diploma/GED and 3 years of experience, or 7 years of related experience
• Basic automotive knowledge preferred for Level 1
• 0–1 years of automotive-related experience preferred for Level 1
• 1–2 years of automotive-related experience preferred for Level 2
• Previous vehicle inspection experience is required for Senior Level
• Strong automotive knowledge (body and mechanical) is required for Senior Level
• 2–3 years of automotive-related experience is strongly preferred for Senior Level
• 1 year of service with Manheim Inspections is recommended
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required
• Ability to meet physical and mental demands within necessary timeframes
• Capability to safely move and handle vehicles on dealer lots
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating increased judgment and problem-solving skills
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship
• No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT, or visa sponsorship available now or in the future
• Proficiency in Salesforce.com for reporting, lead management, and customer performance tracking
