
Mobile Vehicle Condition Inspector

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Execute comprehensive on-site vehicle condition assessments in accordance with Manheim standards.
• Find, start, maneuver, inspect, and securely return vehicles on dealer client lots.
• Confirm vehicle identification, VINs, mileage, sub-series, and options.
• Examine and record the condition of both the exterior and interior of vehicles.
• Carry out basic mechanical evaluations across powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical systems.
• Detect and document damage, missing parts, and non-functional features.
• Establish trust with dealer clients while informing them about Manheim Marketplace and mobile inspection services.
• Engage with dealers to boost inspection volume and ensure participation.
• Utilize data, insights, and partner feedback to enhance inspection efficiency and territorial productivity.
• Adjust to fluctuating appointments and schedules for optimal dealer coverage.
• Compile and submit daily activity and productivity reports.
• Leverage Salesforce.com for reporting, lead management, and customer performance tracking.
• Work collaboratively with Wholesale Specialists, colleagues, and other Manheim teams.
• Contribute to ongoing improvement and Lean process advancements.
• Maintain production standards and adhere to safety, health, and inspection protocols.
• Take part in Safety Excellence initiatives.
• Execute additional duties as assigned.
• Depending on the level, perform basic, detailed, complex, or advanced inspections; mentor peers and assist with onboarding.
• High School Diploma or GED is required for Level 1.
• Level 2: High School Diploma or GED plus 3+ years of experience in a related field, or an alternative combination of education/certification and experience, including 5 years of related experience.
• Senior Level: High School Diploma/GED plus 5 years of related experience, or an alternative combination of education/certification and experience, including 7 years of related experience.
• Minimal automotive knowledge is preferred for Level 1.
• 0–1 years of automotive-related experience preferred for Level 1.
• 1–2 years of automotive-related experience preferred for Level 2.
• Previous vehicle inspection experience is required for Senior Level.
• Strong automotive knowledge in body and mechanical areas is required for Senior Level.
• 2–3 years of automotive-related experience is strongly preferred for Senior Level.
• A minimum of 1 year of service with Manheim Inspections is recommended.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
• Ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the role within required timeframes.
• Capability to work independently with increasing autonomy, sound judgment, and problem-solving abilities.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without current or future sponsorship.
• No OPT, CPT, STEM/OPT, or visa sponsorship will be provided now or in the future.
