Mobile Support Technician, WATSAN – Operation Cell 4

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Deliver 1st and 2nd line technical assistance (both remote and on-site) to the MSF OCBA portfolio in the areas of Water Supply, Hygiene, Sanitation, and Vector Control.

• Oversee Watsan status throughout the portfolio by conducting regular remote support and systematic field visits.

• Develop and facilitate community-centered Watsan initiatives utilizing participatory methodologies.

• Provide guidance to program teams regarding the formulation of Watsan strategies and annual planning.

• Assist in the design and implementation of Watsan infrastructure within health facilities and community environments.

• Educate and mentor field Watsan personnel and logistics teams on technical aspects and community-focused Watsan issues.

• Support emergency and outbreak response operations as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Health, Public Health Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• A postgraduate degree in Water and Sanitation, Public Health, or Humanitarian Studies will be regarded as advantageous.

• At least 2 years of practical experience in WASH/WATSAN with an NGO, which includes community and healthcare facility (HCF) WASH, outbreak response, adult training facilitation, and work in remote or insecure areas.

• Prior experience in MSF WASH operations will be seen as a significant advantage.

• Experience in Latin America, especially Colombia, and in climate-vulnerable or climate-impacted regions will be beneficial.

• Proficiency in both Spanish and English (written and spoken) is mandatory.

• Knowledge of French will be an asset.

• Comprehensive understanding of Sphere WASH standards, water treatment and quality testing, excreta and wastewater management, healthcare waste management, community WASH methodologies, and principles of vector control.

• Familiarity with MSF WASH protocols and tools, along with GIS and/or EPANET, will be considered advantageous.
