Military Advisor, Sentiment Analysis – Part Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hawaii.

📋 Description

• Offer expert-level insights on sentiment analysis methodologies, tools, and best practices for Department of Defense personnel and partner organizations.

• Develop and execute sentiment analysis frameworks that cater to operational intelligence needs.

• Provide guidance on the selection, implementation, and enhancement of sentiment analysis technologies and platforms.

• Conduct in-depth analytical evaluations of public sentiment across diverse information environments.

• Aid tactical and strategic decision-making by delivering actionable sentiment intelligence products.

• Create, present, and sustain comprehensive training programs focused on sentiment analysis techniques and applications.

• Instruct on methods for capturing and processing data sourced from major data scraping and collection initiatives.

• Design practical exercises, case studies, and hands-on training scenarios tailored to DoD mission objectives.

• Carry out large-scale data collection and scraping activities from open-source and authorized platforms.

• Process and standardize multi-source datasets, including social media, news feeds, forums, and digital communications.

• Identify and monitor trends in population sentiment, narrative patterns, and information influence operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 9 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; 7 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree; 4 years of relevant experience with a PhD or Juris Doctorate; or a High School Diploma or equivalent combined with 13 years of relevant experience.

• Experience in sentiment analysis, social media analysis, or Open Source Intelligence (OSINT).

• A background in instruction or training.

• Prior experience supporting the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, or federal law enforcement agencies.

• Proficient in large-scale data collection, web scraping, and data processing.

• Skilled with sentiment analysis platforms (e.g., Brandwatch, Crimson Hexagon, Synthesio, Palantir).

• Advanced programming capabilities in Python, R, or similar languages.

• Familiarity with web scraping tools (e.g., BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, Selenium, APIs).

• Strong Natural Language Processing (NLP) skills (e.g., NLTK, spaCy, transformers, BERT).

• Proficient in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, matplotlib, D3.js).
