This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee, develop, and lead a team of Partner Credit Risk Managers tasked with managing partner credit programs.
• Create and sustain a thorough second line oversight framework for all BaaS partner credit initiatives.
• Propose and enforce credit risk policies and risk appetite across partner credit programs.
• Assess and endorse (or recommend to Leadership) partner credit models, underwriting strategies, and program frameworks.
• Track portfolio performance among partners, pinpointing trends, concentrations, emerging risks, and corrective action plans.
• Direct the creation of early warning indicators and portfolio stress tests.
• Collaborate with fintech partners, program managers, and internal teams to ensure alignment with risk expectations.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory standards concerning third-party risk (e.g., FDIC, Federal Reserve guidance).
• Assist in the due diligence and onboarding process of new BaaS partners, including performing credit evaluations.
• Provide robust challenges to partner assumptions, models, and performance projections.
• Design and implement controls for managing counterparty credit risk, including continuous partner monitoring.
• Lead the assessment of the financial strength and stability of BaaS partners. Review financial statements, cash flows, liquidity, capital adequacy, and funding structures.
• Set counterparty risk ratings, exposure limits, and ongoing monitoring criteria.
• Identify and escalate risks associated with partner sustainability, operational dependencies, and market conditions.
• 12+ years of experience in credit risk, lending, or risk management within a banking or financial services environment.
• 5+ years of experience in a second line of defense or oversight role.
• Proven leadership experience in managing teams and facilitating cross-functional collaboration.
• Demonstrated experience in working with fintech partners and BaaS platforms.
• Strong background in consumer and small business lending portfolios.
• Proven expertise in assessing counterparty risk, including financial statement analysis.
• Comprehensive understanding of credit risk frameworks, underwriting, portfolio management, and risk governance.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to convert data into actionable insights.
• Excellent communication skills with the capability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel.
