This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hawaii.
• Offer expert-level insights on sentiment analysis methodologies, tools, and best practices for DoD personnel and partner organizations.
• Develop and implement sentiment analysis frameworks to meet operational intelligence needs.
• Provide guidance on the selection, deployment, and optimization of sentiment analysis technologies and platforms.
• Perform advanced analytical evaluations of population sentiment across various information environments.
• Facilitate tactical and strategic decision-making with actionable sentiment intelligence products.
• Create, deliver, and sustain comprehensive training curricula on sentiment analysis techniques and applications.
• Instruct on methods for capturing and processing data acquired through significant data scraping and collection efforts to aid in understanding population sentiment and digital trends.
• Design practical exercises, case studies, and hands-on training scenarios pertinent to DoD mission sets.
• Educate personnel on data collection methodologies, processing workflows, and analytical techniques.
• Evaluate student proficiency and provide detailed feedback on analytical outputs.
• Stay informed about emerging technologies and integrate innovations into training programs.
• Conduct large-scale data collection and scraping operations from open-source and authorized platforms.
• Process and normalize multi-source datasets, including social media, news feeds, forums, and digital communications.
• Utilize natural language processing (NLP), machine learning, and computational linguistics techniques.
• Create custom scripts and tools to improve data collection and processing efficiency.
• Ensure data integrity, quality control, and adherence to legal and ethical standards.
• Identify and monitor trends in population sentiment, narrative patterns, and information influence operations.
• Produce clear, concise intelligence products tailored to various stakeholder needs.
• Present briefings to senior leadership on sentiment trends, emerging threats, and operational recommendations.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including OSINT analysts, data scientists, and operations personnel.
• 9 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 7 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree in a related field.
• 4 years of relevant experience with a PhD or Juris Doctorate in a related field.
• High School Diploma or equivalent with 13 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in sentiment analysis, social media analysis, or OSINT.
• Background in instruction or training.
• Previous support to the DoD, Intelligence Community, or federal law enforcement.
• Experience with large-scale data collection, web scraping, and data processing.
• Proficiency in sentiment analysis platforms (e.g., Brandwatch, Crimson Hexagon, Synthesio, Palantir).
• Advanced programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages.
• Experience with web scraping tools (e.g., BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, Selenium, APIs).
• Strong NLP capabilities (e.g., NLTK, spaCy, transformers, BERT).
• Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, matplotlib, D3.js).
• Experience with big data tools (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Deep understanding of social media ecosystems and online communities.
• Familiarity with information operations, influence campaigns, and narrative analysis techniques.
• Ability to identify trends and anomalies in large datasets.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills in dynamic environments.
• Knowledge of DoD data regulations, privacy laws, GDPR, and ethical data practices.
• Willingness to deploy up to 50% of the time as required by mission needs.
