This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver customer-facing features across the entire stack, prioritizing seamless user experiences.
• You will create and develop intelligent features from the ground up based on loosely defined specifications, working closely with your product, design, and engineering colleagues.
• You should feel confident in making decisions, assessing results, and refining your work to enhance the customer experience.
• Pay attention to the craftsmanship of the front-end.
• You value responsiveness, streaming/loading states, accessibility, and the finer details that transform an assistive feature into a dependable solution rather than a mere gimmick.
• Maintain a close connection with customers.
• Participate in customer calls for deeper context when designing appropriate solutions, engage in a support escalation rotation, and review session recordings of the features you manage.
• Relay that feedback back into your work.
• Focus on outcomes, not just output.
• At the project's inception, you and a PM will agree on a specific outcome metric that the project aims to influence.
• You will implement this metric, and after the project launches, monitor the dashboard and converse with customers to assess its impact.
• Co-create the solution.
• PMs define strategy and sequencing; you bring the insight and craftsmanship required for actual solution development. You'll often contribute to shaping product thinking as well.
• The best results occur when engineers, designers, and PMs collaborate effectively.
• Ensure production readiness from the outset.
• Automation, reliability, monitoring, alerting, and logging are integral to your shipping process.
• The work continues even after merging.
• Utilize AI tools daily as part of your craft.
• We expect proficiency with Cursor, Claude Code, or similar tools.
• If you identify an opportunity to enhance the team's AI workflow, we encourage you to voice your suggestions.
• Assist in recruitment.
• Occasionally collaborate with our Talent team to interview prospective teammates. This is among the most impactful contributions any engineer can make here.
• You are a capable full-stack engineer.
• You possess significant experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and React, demonstrating true front-end craftsmanship, and you take the initiative to work across the stack, delivering end-to-end solutions without waiting for others to handle their part.
• You have developed real applications utilizing LLMs — not merely prototypes.
• You are adept with retrieval (RAG), embeddings, prompt/context engineering, and agentic/tool-calling patterns, and you have a well-formed perspective on what makes AI features reliable in a production environment.
• You maintain a high standard for AI quality.
• You think critically about evaluation, verification, and guardrails; you assess whether an AI feature performs as intended, rather than assuming its success; and you recognize that an increase in AI-generated code does not equate to increased value.
• You are genuinely proficient with AI coding tools and integrate them into your craft.
• You operate swiftly without compromising judgment and possess a viewpoint on the future trajectory of these tools.
• You are customer-focused.
• You actively seek out customer feedback to ensure your work effectively addresses their needs.
• You take responsibility for outcomes.
• You evaluate your contributions, and you are comfortable stating, "this didn't achieve our expectations; let's explore this next," and you follow through on those plans.
• You take ownership of the entire development lifecycle — incorporating automation, reliability, resilience, monitoring, alerting, and logging from the beginning.
• You remain engaged with what you deliver until the metrics improve and the customer benefits.
• You communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats.
• Relevant experience in making LLM features production-ready: latency/cost optimization, fallbacks and circuit breakers across providers, moderation/safety, and responsibly handling sensitive data.
• Design sensibility — comfortable collaborating closely with designers to enhance the quality of an interface, rather than just executing a specification.
• Experience in customer support, productivity, or other tools where trust and reliability are paramount.
• Competitive salary with an internal, transparent salary formula based on market data.
• Flexible time off – you determine the holidays and vacations that best suit your needs.
• 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave for all new parents, including those adopting or fostering.
• A home office stipend to support your setup and productivity.
• A co-working stipend of up to $300 a month if you choose to work outside your home.
• A yearly professional development stipend of $1,800 to assist in advancing your skills.
• For those in the U.S. or Canada, we provide top-tier health insurance for you and your dependents.
