This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Foster a culture of success by enhancing the instructional program through asynchronous and synchronous teaching in whole group, small group, and one-on-one settings;
• Ensure timely completion of grading, lesson preparation, and communication with students and parents;
• Regularly collaborate with fellow educators (e.g., PLCs) to create and revise Personal Learning Plans, evaluate assessments, provide feedback on student assignments, and refine teaching methods and strategies;
• Acquire a broad understanding of the K-12 curriculum while gaining in-depth knowledge of the specific courses for which you are responsible;
• Evaluate the curriculum and develop alternative methods for presenting lesson content to enhance student comprehension (engaging directly with students and parents);
• Assist students and parents with alternative strategies and support for daily assignments and projects;
• Maintain regular communication with parents and students using the Learning Management System and telephone;
• Keep accurate and current student records and data, including cumulative files, online student and family information, attendance, and communication logs;
• Collaborate with other educators, school staff, and the leadership team to design enrichment activities and make modifications to students’ programs to boost understanding and engagement;
• Partner with the Engagement and Counseling Departments to ensure timely and appropriate communication for students and families, monitor student progress, and ensure established goals are being met;
• Support Individualized Education Plans for students in the courses for which you are responsible;
• Participate in professional development activities;
• Create and implement cyber strategies to foster a sense of “school community” within your courses;
• Collaborate with other teachers and school staff to organize social events and relevant field trips for students;
• Oversee field trips and strive to integrate these experiences into the curriculum;
• Attend field trips and other community events organized for students and their families;
• Engage in the planning and execution of State Assessments and other school functions as directed;
• Take part in student recruitment sessions and other marketing initiatives that require teacher involvement;
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Highly qualified and certified to teach Middle School and/or High School in Pennsylvania;
• Endorsements in EL or multiple subject areas are advantageous;
• Must be a resident of Pennsylvania;
• Experience in a cyber learning environment is a plus;
• Proficient technology skills, especially with Microsoft Office and Google Suite;
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities;
• Highly organized and punctual;
• Focused on student needs;
• Demonstrates a high level of flexibility and adaptability;
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment;
• Track record of being a collaborative team player;
• Willingness to travel for state testing, school events, and marketing activities (may require overnight travel);
• Ability to work occasional evening hours as needed to support students and families;
• Capable of working effectively in a remote setting.
