This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.
• Modifies and/or adapts the K12 curriculum to align with state content standards, catering to the unique needs of each student;
• Collaborates with general education teachers to achieve the goals set for targeted students through individualized and small group instruction;
• Educates parents about various instructional strategies;
• Ensures the effective implementation of the RTI instructional system to enhance student achievement;
• Oversees data collection and progress monitoring across all tiers;
• Utilizes data to assist teachers in planning both whole and small group instruction;
• Provides guidance to teachers in identifying and grouping students requiring additional support;
• Collects and maintains all RTI data, including lists of eligible students and intervention plans;
• Acts as a daily resource for school administrators, leadership teams, and other stakeholders on RTI matters;
• Collaborates with homeroom teachers, advisors, counselors, and other district personnel to coordinate and monitor Tier 2 interventions;
• Offers ongoing training and support to school and district staff regarding RTI and data collection procedures;
• Assists teachers in documenting student progress;
• Works with the special education team to facilitate eligibility for special education services;
• Must be willing to travel up to 20% of the time for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and/or as required by the school.
• North Carolina Department of Education secondary Teaching Certification is required;
• Math experience is preferred;
• Bachelor’s degree, an active state teaching license, and the ability to clear the required background check;
• Must be capable of collaborating with other teachers to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data, using it to inform instructional decisions;
• Open to receiving coaching regularly from administrators and teacher trainers;
• Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure optimal student outcomes;
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint;
• Quick to learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms;
• Ability to maintain teacher certification, professional development hours, and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
