This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.
• Act as the primary instructor and teacher of record across all core subjects and grade levels.
• Diligently strive to achieve all objectives related to student success and culture, in addition to meeting state-specific academic accountability standards.
• Conduct highly effective live lessons through web conferencing based on student needs, grounded in research-based instructional methodologies.
• Set up each course within the Learning Management System thoroughly.
• Monitor student progress in asynchronous courses and provide daily feedback and grading for assignments.
• Maintain regular contact with each student.
• Work with the Principal to create and share Progress Reports for Students.
• Frequently analyze student-level data to guide adjustments in the instructional program.
• Tailor instruction to address the diverse needs of all students.
• Employ research-based best practices for both synchronous and asynchronous teaching.
• Foster a joyful, caring, and nurturing classroom environment for every student.
• Incorporate culturally responsive teaching practices into daily lessons and interactions with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Enforce school-wide cultural expectations and norms within the classroom and beyond.
• Maintain regular communication with families regarding their child's academic and social-emotional development.
• Integrate 21st-century technology skills into everyday classroom practices and collaborative settings.
• Engage in the planning and execution of non-instructional activities such as social events and field trips, attending these events in person.
• Collaborate and communicate with all colleagues in an effective, humble, and respectful manner.
• Travel annually to support mandatory face-to-face state testing.
• Execute other assigned responsibilities as needed.
• Valid State teaching license in the relevant content area.
• Familiarity with State Standards and Common Core Standards.
• Preferably two years of teaching experience.
• High comfort level working in a growth-oriented coaching environment characterized by frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Outlook.
• Ability to manage confidential information effectively.
• Capability to stand for up to 90 minutes at a time.
• Ability to supervise students in various school environments.
• Must pass federal and state criminal background checks.
• Experience in a multicultural setting is preferred.
