Mid-Senior Back-End Engineer – Java, Kotlin

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Assume responsibility for core system services, enhancing the quality of these services through architectural redesign and the application of cutting-edge technologies.

• Establish and advocate for best practices regarding the software lifecycle and quality assurance, while developing software solutions in critical business domains.

• Contribute to the technical roadmap and address existing gaps by leveraging extensive knowledge and expertise in Cloud-native event-driven microservice architecture.

• Collaborate with Product and Data teams to optimize current business processes and data workflows.

• Work in conjunction with the Head of DevOps to unify the existing software infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.

• Document, present, and share solutions through technical reports, diagrams, and blogs/vlogs.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of experience as a professional software engineer specializing in Java.

• Proven history of successfully delivering software projects utilizing Service-Oriented, Cloud-based, and event-driven methodologies.

• Comprehensive knowledge and skills in the Spring framework, including Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Cloud, and Spring Security.

• Significant experience with RDBMS and NoSQL databases.

• Extensive experience with Apache Kafka.

• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.

• Understanding of Jenkins for automated CI/CD pipelines.

• Knowledge of static code analysis, TDD/BDD, exception handling, and monitoring and alerting tools, including Sonarqube, Pact, Cucumber, Sentry, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, and PagerDuty.

• Familiarity with project management tools.

• Exceptional presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail in issue resolution.

• Kotlin knowledge is a plus or a willingness to learn.
