Mid-Level Video Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Utilize Node.js for the processing and management of data streams within a microservices architecture.

• Design and maintain workflows for retrieving, processing, and analyzing video segments.

• Develop and troubleshoot video workflows that incorporate HLS, adaptive streaming, FFmpeg, and codecs.

• Create and sustain APIs for video delivery, metadata management, and backend integrations.

• Engage with event-driven architectures for real-time or near-real-time video processing.

• Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, and operations teams to enhance:

• - Streaming quality

• - Performance

• - Reliability

• Detect technical challenges, suggest enhancements, and support scalable backend solutions.

• Contribute to system optimization across network, storage, and processing layers.

• ✅ Must-Have RequirementsBackend & Engineering

• - Extensive experience with Node.js in backend, microservices, or data-streaming contexts.

• - Proficient in constructing and maintaining APIs and backend services.

• - Familiarity with microservices architectures.

• - Strong skills in troubleshooting and debugging.

• Video & Streaming

• - Working knowledge of HLS and adaptive streaming.

• - Comprehension of video formats, segmented video, and media delivery workflows.

• - Practical experience with FFmpeg, media codecs, and video processing concepts.

• Data & Systems

• - Experience with data streams and event-driven architectures.

• - Ability to function in distributed systems and scalable environments.

• - Familiarity with TypeScript, Python, or other backend programming languages.

• - Knowledge of video tools like GStreamer, OpenCV, or VLC.

• - Understanding of streaming protocols such as RTMP or WebRTC.
