Mid Level Security Engineer – Identity and Endpoint

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Guidehouse is in search of a mid-level Microsoft Security Engineer to assist in the design, configuration, deployment, tuning, and daily operations of Microsoft 365 security and identity technologies.

• This position is hands-on and focused on delivery, catering to government and regulated-industry clients.

• In addition to operational duties, the engineer will be instrumental in transitioning and handing over security operations capabilities to client teams, which includes documentation, training, and knowledge transfer.

• Configure, deploy, and manage Microsoft 365 security technologies, such as: Microsoft Defender (Endpoint, Identity, Office 365, Cloud Apps).

• Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).

• Conditional Access policies.

• Mobile Device Management (Intune).

• Fine-tune security controls, alerts, and policies to achieve a balance between risk reduction and operational impact.

• Assist with ongoing security operations, incident triage, and activities focused on continuous improvement.

• Integrate Microsoft security tools into comprehensive client security architectures and operating models.

• Implement and manage Conditional Access policies in accordance with Zero Trust principles.

• Support identity lifecycle management, MFA enforcement, and device-based access controls.

• Configure and uphold mobile and endpoint security policies across enterprise environments.

• Create documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

• Conduct training sessions and collaborative working sessions with client operations teams.

• Facilitate the phased transition of security operations from Guidehouse to client personnel.

• Ensure clients are equipped to independently sustain and enhance their security capabilities.

• Contribute technical content for proposals, whitepapers, and solution architectures.

• Assist capture teams by defining tool capabilities, operational strategies, and staffing models.

• Participate in technical solution reviews and provide feedback during proposal color team sessions.

⛳️ Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required (for public sector client support).

• Bachelor's degree.

• Four (4) to Six (6) years of experience in cybersecurity, cloud security, or identity engineering roles.

• Must possess hands-on post-graduation experience with Microsoft 365 security tools, including Defender, Intune, and Entra ID.

• Experience with the implementation of Conditional Access and identity-based security controls.

• Familiarity with security operations concepts (alerting, tuning, incident response).

• Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Willingness to engage in proposal writing and solution development activities.

• Ability to travel.

• Must be able to work onsite at a Guidehouse Office or Client Office location.
