This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• Engaging in hands-on Data Science projects, with a preference for experience in Computer Vision or Natural Language Processing (NLP);
• Strong grasp of essential machine learning principles (appropriate data splitting, regularization, hyperparameter optimization);
• Capability to define and compute performance metrics (Accuracy, Precision, Recall, F1-Score) while optimizing inference time for real-time applications;
• Practical experience utilizing version control (Git) and participating in Scrum ceremonies;
• Proficient in Python for data manipulation, feature extraction, and training models;
• Working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript for executing and integrating models on the frontend;
• Familiarity with Deep Learning frameworks (TensorFlow) and Computer Vision (integration of the MediaPipe library with OpenCV);
• Basic understanding of system architecture and the ability to package simple applications in Docker containers for delivery to the Engineering team.
• Develop, train, and fine-tune neural network models (TensorFlow) aimed at recognizing spatial and temporal signals in sign language videos;
• Collect, balance, and implement preprocessing and feature engineering techniques on multimodal data;
• Collaborate actively with the Linguists team to establish criteria, domains, and standards for reference videos to be recorded and cataloged for training;
• Prepare, convert, and optimize trained Python models to ensure they operate efficiently with low latency in the user's browser using JavaScript;
• Organize code, dependencies, and model artifacts systematically (using Docker/Git) to ensure a smooth transition to the Engineering team;
• Interest in diversity, inclusion, and accessibility;

• Multidisciplinary communication abilities, with the skill to convey technical data requirements to linguists while aligning needs with Engineering and Product teams;
