
Mid-level Archaeology Technician – on-call

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
• Conduct archaeological fieldwork under the guidance of a Crew Chief, Field Director, and/or Principal Investigator.
• Execute a range of tasks to support project personnel.
• Collect and manage scientific data for supervisors, which includes environmental sampling, operations and maintenance, and client-site inspections.
• Assist with calculations and the setup and operation of equipment.
• Examine equipment and installations to ensure they meet specifications.
• Keep accurate project documentation.
• Gather and input data while applying technical principles and theories under supervision.
• Travel overnight for fieldwork sessions as required.
• Provide support for field projects primarily located in Oregon and Washington State.
• High school diploma along with 4 years of relevant experience, or proven equivalency of experience and/or education, specifically in archaeological fieldwork within the PNW region.
• Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• US Citizenship is mandatory.
• Willingness to travel overnight for fieldwork assignments.
• A Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a related field is preferred.
• Over 5 years of experience in archaeological survey, testing, excavation, and monitoring is preferred.
• Completion of an archaeological field school is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with geospatial technology, including GPS and GIS, is preferred.
• Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office, is preferred.
