This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Provide EFAP services and other assigned clinical services, which include confidential counselling, case management, direct clinical services, and assessments.
• Conduct prompt and effective telephonic assessments through queued calls and the Meet Now function, addressing issues related to client behavior and emotional health, family wellness, workplace challenges, and other personal matters, particularly in crisis situations.
• Offer practical strategies that clients can implement independently.
• Accept case assignments, formulate treatment plans, complete case progress notes, and determine case closure in collaboration with the Clinical Manager.
• Create outlines for specific action plans with each client under regular supervision.
• Perform comprehensive psycho-social assessments on clients as required.
• Carry out risk assessments and support interventions for suicide or other risk prevention.
• Document intervention notes and any additional tracking documents as necessary.
• Uphold established service levels and direct service targets.
• Collaborate with the Stay at Work Clinical Management team as needed, working with colleagues to ensure effective and timely service delivery.
• Facilitate workshops as necessary, depending on personal competencies and availability.
• May offer Crisis Management Services (CMS) on an as-needed basis.
• A Master’s degree in Counselling, Social Work, or Psychology.
• Registration in good standing with the relevant governing body as a Social Worker, Psychotherapist, Marriage & Family Therapist, or Canadian Certified Counsellor.
• 2 to 3 years of clinical experience addressing a range of mental health and situational issues, including training in solution-oriented and/or cognitive-behavioral short-term therapies.
• Experience with crisis hotlines, telephonic counselling, and/or EFAP is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with active listening abilities in English; proficiency in French is an asset.
• Competent in risk assessment, online research, and demonstrating resourcefulness in accessing emergency and/or community resources across Canada.
• Empathetic towards client concerns, delivering exceptional customer service both in-person and over the phone.
• Adaptable with a creative approach to single-session counselling, passionate about facilitating immediate change by emphasizing client strengths.
• Understanding of the importance of measurement-based care in guiding clinical decision-making; relevant experience is an asset.
• Proficiency in English is required, as this role involves supporting, communicating, and collaborating with both French and English-speaking clients and/or colleagues nationwide.
