This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska.
• Conducts clinical interviews and assessments to gather information for diagnostic and treatment planning purposes.
• Implements interventions utilizing evidence-based techniques and methodologies sanctioned by the department.
• Offers individual and group therapy along with collateral interventions, fostering an environment of trust and safety.
• Provides crisis intervention for clients experiencing significant emotional distress.
• Refers clients to community agencies and providers for additional support or services.
• Ensures compliance with State Regulations, legal mandates, and established Borough policies and procedures regarding mental health services.
• Assists patients in finding resources by contacting relevant agencies both over the phone and in person; coordinates with other agencies on mental health case referrals; organizes hospitalization for patients needing inpatient care.
• Employs various diagnostic and rating tools to assess client progress and the effectiveness of interventions or to aid in treatment planning.
• Engages in the development of treatment plans aimed at alleviating existing impairment areas, ensuring that these plans contain problem-solving objectives.
• Acts as a service coordinator as assigned.
• Records daily interventions provided to clients; accurately documents all billable interactions in OPUS, using DAP note formatting.
• Participates in weekly clinical supervision and adheres to training guidelines and instructions from the clinical supervisor.
• Attends and engages in team meetings to review current cases; collaborates with social and community agencies as appropriate; complies with applicable confidentiality laws and maintains case records, including agency forms and documentation sheets.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• A Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field.
• A combination of education, experience, and licensure will be considered.
• Must be pursuing CDC I certification; eligibility for CDC II certification must be achieved within three years of hire.
• Experience in the substance abuse or mental health field, including delivering direct individual and group services.
• Ability to conduct assessments using the DSM-V and ASAM criteria.
• Capability to create personalized treatment plans addressing mental health and substance use issues.
• Participation in treatment teams.
• Skills in crisis intervention.
• Experience in case management and supervision.
• Adherence to the ethical guidelines of the relevant profession.
• Maintenance of required CEUs for licensure and ongoing professionalism.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Basic computer proficiency and adeptness with electronic communication tools.
• Ability to administer UAs and breathalyzers as required.
• Collaboration as part of an interdisciplinary team to address clinical concerns related to clients.
• Receives direct supervision from the Program Manager.
