This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• You will plan, design, develop, and deliver content, live online lessons, and assessments for learners in Tiro’s Applied Chemical Sciences modules.
• You will provide a diverse range of specialist modules, content, materials, and assessments that prioritize the learner's needs.
• You will offer comprehensive feedback on assessments, ensuring relevance to workplace contexts and experiences that enhance and cultivate your learners’ drive to succeed.
• You will proactively identify and address challenges to prevent obstacles, ensuring learners continue to progress in their studies.
• You will create detailed module delivery plans that are clear and instructive.
• You will develop subject-specific content for the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and facilitate Live Lesson Delivery.
• You will conduct Live Lessons for each module that spark curiosity and enthusiasm, fostering an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere.
• You will ensure that module assessments are graded and returned to learners following Tiro’s Assessment Policy.
• A degree qualification or higher in the field of Chemistry.
• Experience in organic chemistry, synthetic chemistry, or a related chemical science discipline.
• Experience in designing and/or delivering Level 5–6 chemistry content or equivalent.
• Experience in creating digital or blended learning resources.
• Experience in supporting learners with chemical problem-solving, reaction mechanisms, and synthesis planning.
• Desirable: Industry or research experience in relevant domains such as pharmaceutical chemistry, medicinal chemistry, process chemistry, fine chemicals, analytical chemistry, or chemical manufacturing.
• A strong understanding of organic chemistry principles and their applications.
• Specialized knowledge in areas including reaction mechanisms, functional group chemistry, stereochemistry, retrosynthetic analysis, and synthetic route design.
• Familiarity with organic synthesis techniques, purification methods, and analytical characterization strategies.
• Awareness of safe working practices in synthetic chemistry, including risk assessment, reagent handling, and waste management.
• Understanding of Level 5–6 academic standards and assessment design.
• Knowledge of principles for designing digital and blended learning experiences.
• Awareness of current industry practices and emerging trends in organic synthesis, pharmaceutical chemistry, fine chemicals, and related fields.
• Experience in designing and developing high-quality curriculum and learning materials for organic synthesis.
• Ability to clearly and effectively explain complex chemical concepts, mechanisms, and synthetic strategies.
• Capacity to contextualize organic synthesis within laboratory, industrial, and research environments.
• Proficiency in digital content creation, including presentations, interactive resources, worked examples, and learning activities.
• Effective teaching and facilitation skills in both online and/or in-person settings.
• Experience in assessment design and delivery, providing constructive feedback on chemical reasoning, problem-solving, and written scientific communication.
