• The organization is looking for a highly detail-oriented and seasoned Mental Health / Behavioral Health Medical Biller and Coder (Billing & Coding Support) with a robust background in medical billing, CPT/ICD-10 coding, and behavioral health operations.
• This position plays a vital role in ensuring precise and timely claim submissions while assisting with administrative and front-office functions.
• The perfect candidate is proactive, organized, and capable of adhering to stringent billing turnaround deadlines in a dynamic behavioral health setting.
• Clear billing queues in AdvancedMD.
• Manage reconciliations and follow-ups on billing.
• Process claims using the Availity RCM system.
• Ensure accurate coding of CPT and ICD-10.
• Submit claims within strict turnaround deadlines of 24–36 hours.
• Monitor and minimize claim denials.
• Generate billing and financial reports utilizing AdvancedMD and Excel.
• Conduct insurance verification via AdvancedMD and the Ohio Medicaid Provider Network Management tools.
• Perform general back-office administrative duties.
• Facilitate communication through email, phone calls, messaging applications/CRM systems (Slack, Salesforce, WhatsApp, Skype), and video conferencing platforms (Zoom, Google Meet).
• Experience in Behavioral Health / Mental Health.
• Strong understanding of CPT and ICD-10 coding.
• Proficiency in AdvancedMD.
• Familiarity with Availity.
• Keen attention to detail and precision.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and work autonomously.
• Exceptional communication and organizational abilities.
• Preferred:
• Experience with various billing systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Flexibility with evening schedules.
• Basic requirements:
• Must be fluent in speaking and writing English clearly.
• Must possess relevant work experience.
• Able to submit an NBI clearance and/or Local Police Clearance background check prior to onboarding [mandatory].
• Must be available for video meetings with the camera on (when necessary).
