Member of Engineering – Back-end

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and manage the backend services, APIs, and orchestration systems that serve as the backbone for all our product experiences.

• Engage in on-call duties and incident response, while also driving ongoing enhancements to our reliability and operational effectiveness.

• Work collaboratively with product, research, and engineering teams to deliver comprehensive product capabilities.

• Partner with solution architects to continuously enhance and optimize the deployment of the Poolside platform in on-premise settings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in building and managing multi-tenant backend APIs and systems at scale.

• Deep understanding of distributed systems.

• Knowledge of consistency models, distributed processing, fault tolerance, and performance optimization.

• Familiarity with message queues and event-driven architectures.

• Proven experience in building and maintaining infrastructure at scale.

• Experience with cloud providers such as AWS, GCP, etc.

• Strong practical experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, and observability tools (e.g., OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog).

• Proficient in programming languages such as Go, Ruby, or Python (we welcome polyglot engineers from other languages).

• Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and work effectively amidst ambiguity.

• Plus: Experience deploying in enterprise on-premise environments.

• Plus: Familiarity with durable execution and workflow engines (e.g., Temporal).
