πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Support healthcare providers by ensuring adherence to medication protocols, monitoring lab results, managing medication therapy, processing refill authorizations, validating pharmacy preferences, and maintaining accurate medication histories.

β€’ Assist patients in overcoming obstacles related to medication authorization and access.

β€’ Effectively communicate with patients, families, caregivers, healthcare professionals, practitioners, and pharmacy staff.

β€’ Record patient interactions and medication details in the electronic health record (EHR).

β€’ Escalate issues to pharmacists, providers, or clinic personnel for resolution.

β€’ Oversee patient onboarding procedures.

β€’ Collaborate with providers and patients to evaluate eligibility for financial aid.

β€’ Guide patients through the medication authorization workflow.

β€’ Gather and clarify information regarding patients' home or chronic medications.

β€’ Enter patients' medication lists into the EHR system.

β€’ Address discrepancies in medication history and clarify details with patients and prescribers.

β€’ Collect information regarding prescription benefits.

β€’ Refer out-of-scope inquiries from patients and families to the appropriate staff or caregivers.

β€’ Deliver exceptional customer service to patients, their family members, and the care team.

β€’ Document findings in the EHR to facilitate collaboration.

β€’ Tailor communication and service delivery methods to meet the needs of specific patient populations.

β€’ Stay informed about relevant laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance at all times.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ High school diploma or equivalent qualification.

β€’ A minimum of 2 years of experience as a pharmacy technician, in medical intake, or within a healthcare role involving medications.

β€’ Medication Therapy Management Certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or a Medication History Certificate from the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), to be obtained within 6 months of employment.

β€’ Proficiency in using computers, software applications, and web-based platforms.

β€’ Strong understanding of pharmaceutical mathematics.

β€’ Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

β€’ Capability to present information in a clear and professional manner.

β€’ Competence in operating standard pharmacy and office equipment.

β€’ Ability to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, along with accreditation standards.

β€’ Flexibility to work remotely; please note that residents of Colorado, California, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington, and Washington D.C. are not eligible for remote work.
