This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.
• Schedule, manage, and coordinate appointments for patients.
• Consistently follow up with patients to assist in scheduling.
• Collaborate with clinics, physical therapy offices, pharmacies, and other care-related contacts as necessary.
• Professionally handle phone calls using phone systems and VOIP tools.
• Support workflows for workers’ compensation insurance verification.
• Identify the patient's employer first, then ascertain the appropriate workers’ compensation insurance provider.
• Assist with verification related to State L&I, Sedgwick, and private workers’ compensation.
• Contact claim managers to collect information and request authorization as needed.
• Coordinate details of patient care and authorization requests with claim managers.
• Ensure accurate documentation and that no details are overlooked.
• Support daily administrative functions using the client's EMR and communication systems.
• Healthcare Administrative Experience: Required. Candidates must possess prior experience in healthcare administration, medical office support, patient coordination, virtual receptionist roles, or similar healthcare support positions.
• Scheduling & Appointment Management Experience: Required. Candidates should be comfortable managing patient schedules, coordinating appointments, and following up to ensure patients are scheduled.
• Phone Handling / Receptionist Experience: Required. Candidates must have experience managing patient calls in a professional and confident manner.
• Workers’ Compensation Experience: Preferred but not mandatory. The client utilizes a specialized workers’ compensation-only insurance model, including State L&I, Sedgwick, and private workers’ compensation. Training will be provided.
• Insurance Verification Experience: Required. Candidates should have experience in verifying insurance coverage, contacting insurance or claim representatives, documenting insurance details accurately, and adhering to insurance-related workflows.
• EMR Experience: Required. Candidates must have experience with healthcare EMR/EHR systems, with preference for those familiar with Athena Health.
• Strong communication and customer service skills over the phone.
• Patient, empathetic, and professional demeanor when dealing with difficult or frustrated patients.
• Resourceful, proactive, and capable of completing tasks with minimal oversight.
• Highly organized with a keen attention to detail.
• Coachable, honest, dependable, and willing to learn multiple systems.
• Must communicate in English clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
• Relevant work experience is essential.
• Must provide an NBI Clearance and/or Local Police Clearance prior to onboarding (mandatory).
• Availability for video meetings with the camera on as required.
• Computer: A reliable laptop or desktop computer is necessary.
• Internet: A stable high-speed internet connection (minimum 25 Mbps) is required.
• Audio: A noise-canceling headset is necessary.
• Video: A functioning webcam for virtual meetings is required.
• Workspace: A quiet and professional work environment is essential.
