This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio, +1 more state.
• Create initiatives, programs, and connections to enhance the perceived value and clinical understanding of Amgen products within the payer community.
• Deliver payer and formulary assistance through value and medical presentations that emphasize therapeutic outcomes, economic benefits, and product usage.
• Engage in clinical policy dialogues related to evidence-based medicine, clinical guidelines, and prior authorization processes.
• Discover, cultivate, and sustain collaborative partnerships with payers, policy makers, Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), and thought leaders in health economics and outcomes research.
• Identify opportunities for speakers and develop concepts and letters of intent for investigator-supported studies focusing on economics, humanistic outcomes, and non-registration clinical trials.
• Offer internal stakeholders insights on customer trends regarding the interpretation and application of value evidence, reimbursement frameworks, and payer policies.
• Provide detailed value-based technical information, including medical education, health outcomes, pharmacoeconomic models, and research protocol opportunities.
• Serve as a representative of Amgen Scientific Affairs to specified payer and select IDN accounts.
• Act as an ambassador for Amgen to designated health economics and outcomes research thought leaders associated with Global Health Economics and the Center for Observational Research.
• Promote the exchange of scientific information pertinent to reimbursement and coverage policies between the medical community and Amgen.
• Gather and report competitive intelligence in accordance with Amgen guidelines.
• Oversee internal relationships, budgets, and travel and entertainment expenses while adhering to guidelines.
• Execute assigned responsibilities in compliance with Amgen's guidelines.
• Doctorate degree with 2 years of Medical Affairs experience, or a Master’s degree with 4 years, or a Bachelor’s degree with 6 years, or an Associate’s degree with 10 years, or a high school diploma/GED with 12 years of relevant experience.
• Preference for Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., or D.O. degrees.
• A minimum of five years of experience in the biotech industry working directly with U.S. payer accounts is preferred.
• Expertise in therapeutic areas such as cardiovascular, metabolic, inflammation, bone, and neuro-oncology is preferred.
• Extensive understanding of managed markets, the U.S. reimbursement environment, pharmacoeconomics, population health, and overarching healthcare trends.
• Experience in patient access within the U.S. and/or global markets.
• Proven project management experience in a biopharmaceutical context.
• Strong skills in advocacy, communication, and team collaboration.
• Proficient in critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and project management.
• Capability to lead and manage projects from conception to execution.
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, active listening, and relationship management skills.
• Ability to engage effectively with all organizational levels, including senior management.
• Skill in influencing others while nurturing a value-driven environment of commitment and fairness.
• Competence to understand, plan, and maneuver through a matrixed and occasionally ambiguous environment.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information succinctly and effectively.
