Medical Science Liaison, Pacific Northwest

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Act as a field-based, customer-oriented, non-promotional medical and scientific authority in HIV treatment and prevention.

• Enhance clinical practices within the designated Pacific Northwest region to boost patient outcomes.

• Engage in scientific discussions with healthcare providers and medical professionals.

• Oversee and cultivate the territory while executing initiatives that align with the medical strategic plan.

• Gather actionable insights from the field to inform medical strategies, product development, clinical trial designs, and market approaches.

• Identify, foster, and sustain relationships with external experts, researchers, and healthcare practitioners.

• Facilitate scientific discussions, collaborations, emerging data evaluations, clinical trial activities, patient journey analyses, market dynamics assessments, exploration of unmet medical needs, pipeline discussions, disease-state and product education, adverse-event documentation, and medical insight collection.

• Create and deliver scientific presentations and training sessions for healthcare professionals and internal teams.

• Assist in the creation of educational resources and provide scientific training to colleagues.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies while maintaining accurate records of interactions.

• Mentor and guide new or less experienced MSLs and lead scientific or strategic initiatives.

• Disseminate crucial safety information to healthcare professionals.

• Collaborate with external experts, healthcare professionals, investigators, professional societies, advocacy groups, formulary decision-makers, and internal stakeholders.

• Support GSK and Investigator Sponsored Studies and collaborate with Clinical Teams to enhance site performance.

• Attend national and regional scientific and medical conferences.

• Work collaboratively with matrix stakeholders while embodying a One-ViiV mindset.

• Complete training and administrative tasks, including Veeva CRM, email correspondence, expense reporting, and customer profiling.

⛳️ Requirements

• Advanced degree (MD, DO, PharmD, PhD, or APP).

• A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in HIV or Infectious Disease.

• Experience in stakeholder management.

• Possession of a valid driver’s license.

• Willingness to travel 40–60% of the time.

• Preferred HIV field medical experience in the US.

• Proven history of consistent, high performance within Field-Based Medical Affairs is preferred.

• Strong foundational knowledge in clinical, medical, and pharmaceutical sciences.

• Ability to quickly assimilate specific and detailed scientific information.

• Experience in evaluating and effectively communicating evidence-based medicine.

• Excellent scientific communication and presentation abilities.

• Leadership skills and experience, including business acumen, stakeholder management, project involvement, and completion.

• Preferred experience in mentoring fellow MSLs and leading complex field-based medical projects.

• Experience representing field-based medical on internal cross-functional teams and contributing to strategic planning is preferred.

• Effective engagement in both one-on-one and group settings.

• Skills in digital fluency, enterprise thinking, external stakeholder management, impactful communication, and patient impact.
