Medical Science Liaison I, Specialties – Mid-Atlantic

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Act as the genomic and clinical authority for GeneDx, engaging with clinicians, hospitals, and academic institutions.

• Establish and nurture relationships with key opinion leaders and decision-makers in the region.

• Present scientific and clinical information on genomics and genetic testing related to the GeneDx product offerings.

• Provide support to genetics professionals and non-genetic professionals with clinical information and educational resources that facilitate access to genomic testing.

• Assist healthcare providers and administrators in executing programs that implement pre-test counseling, test result interpretation, and management based on test results.

• Collect insights from clients regarding regional needs and gaps in genomic services; communicate these insights with relevant internal stakeholders and advocate for prioritized actions.

• Collaborate with Regional Sales Directors (RSDs) and Training & Sales Enablement to ensure Regional Account Executives (RAEs) possess the necessary product knowledge and business skills to enhance sales force effectiveness.

• Spend time in the field alongside individual RAEs to assess needs, review objectives, and formulate action plans; identify opportunities for coaching and performance management and relay these to the RSD for follow-up.

• Work with RSDs to implement sales strategies, tactics, and the execution of sales and marketing initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Genetic Counseling.

• Over 3 years of experience in a clinical, academic, or industry setting as a genetic counselor.

• At least 2 years of experience in a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) or a comparable role in the industry.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong presentation and public speaking abilities.

• Capability to work independently and effectively manage time.

• Willingness to travel 60% of the time within the assigned region.
