This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Acquire and sustain essential scientific knowledge to effectively communicate information to external experts and healthcare professionals, facilitating the development of professional relationships.
• Engage in investigator-initiated studies, clinical trials, and medical projects pertinent to the relevant therapeutic area, ensuring appropriate follow-up.
• Offer scientific support and help maintain relationships with external experts and academic institutions.
• Deliver credible scientific presentations on a variety of topics to healthcare professionals, either individually or in group settings.
• Participate in the targeting process for qualified healthcare professionals with whom AbbVie may collaborate on projects (such as research or support for conferences/meetings like advisory boards, congresses, symposiums, etc.), ensuring a high level of integrity in the scientific or informational content shared during those collaborations.
• Attend pertinent meetings and conferences, preparing summaries of key data presented.
• Postgraduate degree in a scientific discipline (Pharm.D., Ph.D., or M.D.).
• Relevant business experience combined with a strong understanding of the biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry: experience as a Medical Science Liaison is preferred, with ideally at least 2 years of experience.
• Experience in the therapeutic area is advantageous.
• Background in a client-facing role within the healthcare sector.
• Experience in presenting and/or interpreting scientific publications or clinical research.
• Knowledge of scientific methods applicable to clinical research and familiarity with the legal and regulatory frameworks currently in effect in this field.
• Strong interest in acquiring and maintaining up-to-date comprehensive knowledge of the assigned therapeutic area/product and medical research in general.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc.).
• Comfortable with technology and adept at using various tools/systems for daily tasks.
• Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time.
• Valid driver’s license and passport.
