This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +2 more states.
• Provide a clinical and scientific viewpoint to the local execution plan that addresses customer challenges and opportunities.
• Oversee the implementation of field activities in collaboration with the ecosystem team.
• Establish, nurture, and utilize relationships with key scientific and medical customers and organizations.
• Achieve business objectives that extend beyond the territory and influence Medical Affairs.
• Develop and sustain an in-depth understanding of the healthcare ecosystem and Otsuka’s patient-centric strategy.
• Share evidence-based clinical, economic, and humanistic information regarding Otsuka products.
• Collaborate with providers and stakeholders to implement real-world solutions that enhance patient outcomes.
• Engage local stakeholders who possess regional influence.
• Foster internal matrix-team relationships to support a comprehensive customer approach.
• Shape and implement local medical strategies under the guidance of regional Field Medical leadership.
• Distribute disease-state and healthcare-landscape information to customers.
• Deliver clinical and data-focused training for promotional and disease-state speakers.
• Assist Otsuka’s speaker bureau and fulfill product educational requirements.
• Gather and submit medical insights that support evidence generation and healthcare solution decisions.
• Aid in registrational, post-marketing, investigator-sponsored trials, and health-economic outcomes research.
• Offer clinical expertise and feedback concerning clinical trial operations, site selection, and performance.
• Mentor colleagues and new hires.
• Support Safety & Pharmacovigilance, Sales Training medical education, and the Field Medical Center of Excellence.
• MD/DO, PharmD, or PhD in life sciences is essential.
• A comprehensive understanding of healthcare-system interconnectivity and overall patient-care delivery.
• Experience collaborating with healthcare professionals and other decision-makers.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical Medical Affairs, clinical, or research.
• Previous training or experience in CNS diseases is preferred.
• Strong business acumen and knowledge of the industry, Otsuka’s business model, competitors, and marketplace dynamics.
• Ability to identify solutions that focus on enhancing patient outcomes.
• Outstanding communication and collaboration skills.
• Professional maturity, confidence, and competence.
• Strong conflict-resolution abilities and capacity to work cross-functionally.
• Capability to lead others and project teams strategically.
• Proficiency in summarizing and conveying complex information and business objectives concisely and effectively.
• Strong understanding of industry legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements.

• Willingness to travel by air or car up to 70% of the time.
