This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.
• Evaluate and examine medical records for thoroughness and precision in line with established standards.
• Extract and code clinical information, including illnesses, surgeries, procedures, and treatments.
• Oversee the timely completion of medical records in accordance with stipulated timeframes.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to guarantee comprehensive, up-to-date, and accurate records.
• Collect, preserve, and assess logs, reports, and statistical data.
• Investigate records to find requested health information.
• Maintain and utilize health record indexes, as well as storage and retrieval systems.
• Utilize computers to process, store, and access health information.
• Assist in identifying medical records required for research purposes using both manual and computerized indexes.
• Prepare data for computerized medical information systems and manage vital statistics, insurance, and other relevant forms and documents.
• Navigate computerized applications related to job responsibilities, including EMR, EDR, Patient Portal, Insurance Portals, Reminder Call system, and CIOX.
• Exhibit knowledge of ethics, HIPAA, and professional etiquette through the completion of current training.
• Deliver customer service while embodying NorthLakes' mission, vision, and values to patients from diverse social backgrounds.
• Candidates must live within NorthLakes' service area at the time of hiring and maintain residency during employment.
• Possess a one-year certificate from a college or technical school; or three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Capability to navigate computerized applications relevant to job duties, including EMR, EDR, Patient Portal, Insurance Portals, Reminder Call system, and CIOX.
• Awareness of ethics, HIPAA, and business etiquette, validated by a current training certificate of completion.
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to represent NorthLakes' mission, vision, and values to patients with diverse social backgrounds.
