This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide comprehensive, patient-focused oncology care utilizing telehealth technologies (video calls, phone consultations, asynchronous messaging).
• Assess, diagnose, and manage cancer and cancer-related conditions in accordance with ASCO, NCCN, and other guidelines, while adhering to best practices for virtual care.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, diagnostics, referrals, and prescriptions as required.
• Administer specific anti-cancer treatments (e.g., oral hormonal therapies or long-term adjuvant therapies) in collaboration with local healthcare teams.
• Work closely with in-person clinical providers to coordinate care and ensure smooth transitions for in-person treatments.
• Maintain detailed, high-quality, and timely documentation.
• Review patient cases (including medical records, pathology, imaging, genetics, and patient-reported information), formulate comprehensive, guideline-compliant recommendations, and guarantee the timely delivery of clinical care.
• Consult with both internal and external sub-specialists (such as surgical and radiation oncologists, palliative care, primary care, rehabilitation, and gastroenterology).
• Facilitate multidisciplinary tumor board meetings.
• Clearly communicate recommendations to patients and local care teams.
• Collaborate closely with oncology nurses, advanced practice providers, care advocates, dietitians, mental health professionals, primary care, and other clinical team members.
• Engage in care team evaluations and contribute to coordinated care strategies.
• Oversee care provision by both employed and contracted oncologists, nurses, and advanced practice providers to ensure consistent, timely, and high-quality patient-centered care.
• Spearhead the development and enhancement of clinical protocols, pathways, and best practices for virtual oncology services.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Operations, and Client Experience teams to scale high-quality, patient-centered services.
• Champion quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives, including:
• Review and audit patient charts.
• Evaluate clinical outcomes and analyze operational data.
• Identify quality trends, initiate and implement cross-functional quality improvement initiatives, and engage in a continuous improvement process.
• M.D. or D.O., board-certified in Medical Oncology.
• Active medical license in good standing; willingness to acquire multi-state licensure.
• A minimum of 3-5+ years of independent, multidisciplinary oncology clinical practice following fellowship, with expertise across various cancer types.
• Strong commitment to evidence-based, high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Exceptional communication skills with a compassionate and empathetic demeanor.
• Proficiency with telehealth technologies: video consultations, asynchronous care, and EHR systems.
• Proven experience in developing or redesigning clinical programs.
