Medical Editor/Transcriptionist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Report Transcription and Editing: Utilize knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, along with keyboarding experience, to produce high-quality medical reports and records within expected turnaround times.

• Discrepancy Processing: Identify, recognize, and rectify discrepancies and errors in dictations and ordered examinations.

• Workflow Management: Oversee transcription applications and manage multiple worklists; troubleshoot system issues and resolve or escalate them to the appropriate personnel.

• Staying Current: Remain informed about new medical terminology, procedures, medications, and other medical language through online and printed resources.

• Competencies Accuracy: Transcribe or edit medical records, reports, and documents, ensuring they are precise, consistent, and compliant with coding and billing standards.

• Analytical Thinking: Differentiate between significant and insignificant details, identify inconsistencies in facts and/or data, and determine appropriate actions.

• Attention to Detail: Focused on the implications of minute details in medical reports.

• Knowledge of Grammar and Medical Terminology: Possesses a solid understanding of English grammar, spelling, and medical terminology pertinent to radiology.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in a healthcare environment is required.

• Certification or training in anatomy and medical terminology is mandatory.

• Prior experience in transcription, scribing, or clinical charting is preferred.

• Experience in radiology transcription is advantageous.

• High school diploma or GED is required.
