This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Manage a clinical caseload of up to 50% (subject to adjustment as administrative duties change), offering psychiatric diagnostic evaluations and ongoing medication management for pediatric patients in multiple states.
• Take full ownership of the psychiatry service line, overseeing clinical quality, provider performance, care protocols, and alignment with Brightline's evidence-based care standards.
• Work closely with fellow service line leaders in therapy, psychological testing, and coaching to ensure seamless, multidisciplinary care delivery.
• Establish and maintain Collaborative Practice Agreements (CPAs) with nurse practitioners; collaborate with the CMO, Legal, and Compliance to develop the strategic framework governing CPAs across different jurisdictions.
• Document all work thoroughly, including session notes, care plans, and progress in the electronic health record.
• Directly supervise and lead a psychiatry team primarily made up of nurse practitioners, along with a pediatrician, with potential expansion to include more psychiatrists.
• Share hiring and personnel decision-making responsibilities in partnership with the CMO, encompassing recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding when necessary.
• Authorize timecards and oversee scheduling for part-time direct reports.
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, case reviews, and clinical office hours to foster the professional development, clinical growth, and accountability of team members.
• Promote a culture of psychological safety, high standards, and ongoing learning within the psychiatry department.
• Create and uphold clinical protocols, treatment pathways, and quality assurance processes for the psychiatry service line.
• Lead chart reviews and continuous quality monitoring to ensure compliance with evidence-based care and Brightline's clinical standards.
• Identify and escalate systemic clinical risks, regulatory challenges, and practice gaps, working with the CMO and Compliance to address these issues proactively.
• Contribute to organizational policies and procedures related to psychiatry, controlled substance prescribing, and multi-state telehealth compliance.
• Co-manage the psychiatry department budget alongside the CMO, offering insights on resource allocation, staffing requirements, and operational priorities.
• Track productivity and care delivery metrics to enhance service line efficiency and sustainability.
• Collaborate with Care Operations to streamline workflows, alleviate clinician burden, and ensure the efficient daily operation of the psychiatry team.
• Effectively leverage AI tools to improve clinical workflows, documentation quality, and care delivery within the psychiatry service line and in multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to provide clinical insights on technology developments, including documentation tools, decision support features, and patient-facing enhancements.
• Actively engage with emergent telehealth technologies and assist in evaluating new tools for safety, efficacy, and clinical applicability.
• Provide clinical insights to Brightline's broader AI strategy, overseen by the CMO and executive leadership team.
• Board-certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist with demonstrated expertise in performing comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and treatments for a wide range of mental health concerns in pediatric patients.
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team to implement a pathway-driven approach for delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to members and families.
• Multi-state licensed or willing and able to obtain cross-licensure, with administrative support and financial sponsorship available.
• Proven experience in direct people management, including supervision, performance development, and personnel decisions—whether through a formal medical director role, chief residency, chief fellowship, or similar leadership position.
• Experience supervising nurse practitioners and comfort in supporting the clinical growth, development, and personnel management of a prescribing team.
• Ability to cultivate a culture of clinical excellence, psychological safety, and accountability.
• Approaches care delivery with innovative thinking; not strictly tied to traditional models or "how things have always been done."
• Comfortable and experienced with AI tools, telehealth platforms, and digital health technologies.
• Thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments where building from the ground up is the norm rather than the exception.
• Passionate about technology-driven care delivery models and dedicated to continuously enhancing care quality through innovation.
• Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Care Operations) to support technology-driven care delivery models.
• Clear and effective communicator in a fully remote setting, keeping team members informed, engaged, and aligned.
• Ability to translate clinical needs and priorities into actionable insights for non-clinical stakeholders.
