📋 Description

• Identify medical information pertinent to claims and underwriting reviews, offering advanced medical expertise and training for underwriters and claims examiners.

• Make informed decisions for underwriting and claims grounded in robust medical knowledge aligned with current guidelines, showcasing the ability to integrate new medical insights into guideline updates and improvements, including advanced skills in ECG interpretation.

• Stay updated with general medical literature and develop topics of particular interest.

• Recognize significant medical topics, advancements, and emerging risks, providing concise and relevant updates for stakeholders.

• Continue to enhance business acumen, proactively identifying opportunities and trends related to medical and underwriting, and contributing to equitable risk assessment initiatives.

• Display a passion and capability for educating underwriters on medical subjects, engaging them through case discussions.

• Actively participate in the insurance medicine community and complete the AAIM Diplomate Board of Insurance Medicine (DBIM) certification.


⛳️ Requirements

• MD or DO with over 5 years of clinical experience.

• Proven ability to communicate clearly, respectfully, and effectively across various disciplines, including underwriting, legal, and business teams.

• Demonstrated capacity to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment, valuing diverse expertise and perspectives while upholding professionalism and mutual respect.

• More than 5 years of experience in insurance medicine, with a candidate status for the Board of Insurance Medicine and/or working towards DBIM certification.

• Experience in life insurance.

• Curiosity: The ideal candidate exhibits intellectual curiosity and a dedication to continuous learning, consistently pursuing innovative solutions and challenging traditional approaches to foster organizational growth. Demonstrated aptitude for tackling complex problems with an inquisitive mindset and a genuine interest in exploring emerging trends within the life insurance sector.

• AI Engagement and Integration: The successful candidate adopts a forward-thinking perspective on artificial intelligence, with proven experience in utilizing AI tools and technologies to improve operational efficiency and strategic decision-making. Ability to actively advocate for the responsible integration of AI capabilities across teams and workflows to deliver substantial business value and sustain a competitive advantage.
