Medical Communications Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Serve as a primary point of contact between Medical Affairs and Marketing to guarantee that all materials adhere to medical, regulatory, and company standards.

• Conduct an initial evaluation of materials in Veeva Vault, confirming their completeness and readiness for medical review.

• Assess a diverse array of content (promotional, training, scientific) across various formats (slides, videos, social media, brochures, etc.).

• Ensure the accurate classification of materials and alignment with guidelines (promotional, HEOR, disease awareness, scientific exchange).

• Validate the substantiation of claims, references, and citations to ensure precision and compliance.

• Deliver clear, actionable feedback to content creators, including recommended wording to facilitate approval.

• Oversee the review process until final approval, ensuring that all medical comments are addressed and deadlines are adhered to.

• Uphold high-quality standards (brand compliance, grammar, plagiarism) while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in life sciences or communications.

• Proficient in English and Portuguese (both written and verbal).

• Approximately 2 years of experience in medical/health communications (writing/editing, medical terminology).

• In-depth knowledge of medical communications, claims management, and scientific content.

• Familiarity with regulatory standards (FDA & international) and compliance for promotional materials.

• Experience in the medical device industry or relevant disease areas (preferred).

• Strong organizational abilities with the capacity to prioritize tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills; capable of functioning effectively in a global, matrixed environment.
