Medical Coder

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.

📋 Description

• Reviewing and coding medical records for both inpatient and outpatient services

• Accurately assigning codes such as ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS

• Collaborating with healthcare professionals to clarify documentation and guarantee precise coding

• Keeping current with coding guidelines and regulations

• Identifying and reporting any discrepancies or issues in coding

• Ensuring the timely and accurate submission of coded claims

• Maintaining confidentiality and security of all patient information

• Participating in coding audits and offering feedback for enhancements

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for a certification in medical coding

• At least 2 years of experience in medical coding, ideally in a remote environment

• Proficient in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems

• Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

• Skilled in using coding software and electronic health records systems
