Medical Billing Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Deliver precise and timely revenue cycle and account management services to OBS member clients.

• Contribute to OCHIN’s essential performance metrics by identifying and rectifying claims issues.

• Ensure adherence to payer requirements.

• Participate in ongoing process enhancement.

• Oversee self-pay accounts and respond to customer inquiries.

• Manage daily claims operations, including printing, mailing, and organizing documentation for clean claim submissions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Preferred experience in billing and/or coding within the revenue cycle.

• Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, MVA, Workers Comp, and private insurance billing and reimbursement processes, along with knowledge of legal requirements is preferred.

• Experience with billing in California is highly preferred.

• Preferred knowledge and experience with FQHC.

• Experience in dental billing is preferred.

• Preferred Medical Billing Certification from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).

• For Acute Care hospital roles, experience in rural hospitals is required.
