Medical Billing Specialist – Acute Care

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Deliver precise and timely services related to revenue cycle and account management for OBS member clients.

• Process claims, oversee accounts receivable, and ensure documentation adheres to payer guidelines and OCHIN systems.

• Investigate and resolve claim denials, recognize trends, and contribute to process enhancements that improve reimbursement results.

• Effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders to clarify billing requirements, fostering a collaborative work environment.

• Utilize OCHIN tools and processes to monitor deadlines and organize billing activities for prompt and efficient task execution.

• Exhibit a foundational understanding of the U.S. healthcare system and leverage knowledge of OCHIN solutions in billing operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Preferred experience in billing and/or coding within the revenue cycle.

• Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, MVA, Workers Comp, and private insurance billing and reimbursement processes; knowledge of legal requirements is preferable.

• Strong preference for experience in billing within California.

• Preferred experience and knowledge in FQHC operations.

• Dental billing experience is preferred.

• Medical Billing Certification from the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) is preferred.

• Required rural hospital experience for Acute Care hospital assignments.
