This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Manage patient information, including medical records and billing details
• Submit and monitor claims with insurance providers
• Ensure prompt and accurate payment for healthcare services rendered
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to address billing discrepancies
• Confirm insurance coverage
• Enter payments and responses from insurance companies into client systems using electronic, ERA, or paper explanations of benefits
• Review pending amounts due from payers and take appropriate actions
• Analyze partial and full denials through carrier portals or calls, then resubmit or request reconsideration of claims
• Draft appeals for the reimbursement representative
• Report unresolved issues and denied patient claims to the reimbursement team member
• Identify reasons for denials and assist in preventing recurring problems
• Follow up with carriers regarding claims with no responses
• Prepare outstanding balances and key issues for the reimbursement team
• Follow up on appeals and reconsidered claims
• Participate in daily meetings with the reimbursement team member
• Join weekly team meetings and complete assigned tasks
• Carry out additional duties as assigned
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a US-based medical billing practice or 1 year of experience in a medical setting related to billing, including provider credentialing, authorization, and reimbursement
• At least 2 years of college education
• Must possess a backup power supply, such as an extra laptop, power bank, generator, or power station
• Must have a backup internet connection that is not reliant on mobile data
• Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills
• Capable of planning and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Communicates clearly and effectively
• Excellent reading comprehension abilities
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word
• Thorough understanding of navigating the internet
• Ability to work the designated night-shift schedule
