Medical Biller, Coder

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Review clinical documentation to ensure completeness prior to billing.

• Assign appropriate CPT, ICD-10-CM, and relevant HCPCS codes.

• Input charges into the electronic health record (EHR) or billing system.

• Submit claims in accordance with payer-specific guidelines.

• Confirm patient demographics, insurance, and payer information.

• Identify and rectify claim rejections, coding inaccuracies, and data-entry discrepancies.

• Assist in resolving denials by addressing coding or documentation issues.

• Ensure all rendered services are accurately captured and billed.

• Maintain billing records that are organized and ready for audit.

• Adhere to the workflows, quality standards, and productivity expectations set by Team Lead.

• Communicate any gaps in documentation, authorization challenges, and system obstacles.

• Aid in managing billing backlogs during high-volume periods.

• Support quality assurance reviews and audits as needed.

• Engage in training, coaching, and cross-training initiatives.

• Provide coverage in the absence of team members.

• Contribute to the enhancement of billing accuracy and turnaround-time processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2–4 years of experience in U.S. medical billing and coding.

• Preferred experience in outpatient mental health or behavioral health billing.

• Proficient understanding of CPT, ICD-10-CM, and basic HCPCS coding.

• Familiarity with U.S. insurance systems, Medicaid, and managed care billing practices.

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

• Capability to adhere to established workflows and quality standards.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Preferred experience in secure virtual workstation environments.

• Relevant professional coding certifications such as CPC or equivalent are preferred.

• Must operate in alignment with U.S. Eastern Time business hours.

• Required to use the designated Amazon Workstation; personal devices, local storage, screenshots, external email forwarding, and unauthorized systems are not permitted.

• Must adhere to HIPAA regulations, client contracts, company policies, security measures, monitoring, and activity logging requirements.
